- Perhaps I'm wrong, but I get the impression that the original
- post was inquiring about DATA formats (grid, solution, etc)
- and *NOT* graphics image file formats.

- I'm also curious from whence, the "omnipresent" Plot3D
- data format comes. Is is "best?" I assume it's "tried and
- true" but are there any better now?
