- There is at least one wireframe modeller that supports POV scene file output.
- The one I know about is PV3D, version 0.20 beta. It's by a French author
- whose name escapes me right now. The documentation is a bit sketchy and
- it hasn't been met by critical acclaim by a lot of Compu$erve users
- (the only people I've heard comment about it), but it seems to fill a
- gap that I don't see being filled by anything else. I've gotten the
- program very recently and haven't had the time to assess it fully, so
- I won't comment on its functionality.
-
- I'll FTP it to faramir.informatik.uni-oldenburg.de (134.106.1.9) later
- tonight EST, unless someone else beats me to it (with a newer version,
- perhaps?). Faramir's /pub/dkbtrace/incoming directory currently seems to
- be the best repository for recent POV utilities. Most of the utilities seem
- to make their way there from either Compu$erve, the You Can Call Me Ray BBS
- mentioned in the POV docs, or Adam Schiffman's (sp) The Graphics Alternative
- BBS which has been mentioned in posts recently. These places would be
- excellent sources (particularly TGA) to check if you can afford the
- Compu$erve or long-distance charges. I got the modeler from either
- the Ray or TGA BBS to begin with.
-
- One or more Compu$erve users have dropped not-so-subtle hints about POV
- wireframe modellers of their own in the works, but nothing is available
- quite yet (that I know of).
