- Hi Everyone ...
-
- I am doing a BSc (HONS) degree in Computer Science @ Staffordshire University
- and was woundering if some of you guys out there in the animation industry
- could help me. I am 24 years old and also have a HND in Software Engineering.
-
- I am interested in persuing a career in graphics & animation and was hopping
- that someone could point me in the right direction. I am currently doing a
- years placement at the SERC Daresbury Laboratory doing Scientific Visualization
- using AVS. I own an Amiga2000 and do animation at home using Real3D, but I
- realise that this is a long way off the standard required by professional
- animation houses.
-
- I realise that if I want to get into animation I have to get a job doing it
- as soon as I finish University, Even if it means working for next to nothing
- to gain some experience.
-
- Can anyone out there give me any advise, on how I should go about getting into
- the industry. Also any info on books to read, Do I need to do any fine-art courses
- , or will training be provided in house by a perspective employer.
-
- Thanks Gary.
-
- Also I am trying to collect a list of company names & addresses that I can write
- to for jobs in the Computer Graphics field (ie advertising, film, TV, etc) So if
- you work for a suitable company here in the UK Please let me know your address.
-
- Thanks for your time & any help -Gary- SERC Daresbury Laboratory.
