  12. Those looking for a way to run HP-PHIGS in a Motif environment now have a 
  13. solution!

  15. HP-PHIGS 2.3 on HP-UX 9.0 using Motif 1.2 provides a new Motif Widget called 
  16. "XgPhigsDraw" that creates an PHIGS workstation that is attached to a Motif
  17. DrawingArea.

  19. HP-PHIGS MOTIF WIDGET: XgPhigsDraw
  20. ----------------------------------
  21.     A new Motif 1.2 widget has been added for HP-PHIGS that will provide
  22.     the following assistance:
  23.  
  24.         - Automatically opens a HP-PHIGS workstation inside of a Motif 
  25.           DrawingArea widget
  26.         - Handle resizing the workstation when the window is resized
  27.         - Redraw the workstation when the window is exposed
  28.         - Set the Window Manager colormap priority for the HP-PHIGS colormap
  29.         - Close the HP-PHIGS workstation when the Motif widget is destroyed

  31.     An example HP-PHIGS application using the new widget and demo program
  32.     explaining the different options can be found in the examples (i.e.,
  33.     /usr/lib/phigs/examples/Xg) and demo (i.e., /usr/lib/phigs/demos/Xg)
  34.     directories included in the HP-PHIGS 2.3 Programming Environment
  35.     product.

  38.     Implementation manual" for HP-PHIGS 2.3 and the XgPhigsDraw man

  41. It has it's own set of X resources that can be set to specify visual depth
  42. and the necessary color environment.

  44. The source and makefile for the XgPhigsDraw widget, as well as, two complete 
  45. examples of how to write HP-PHIGS applications using the widget are shipped
  46. with the HP-PHIGS 2.3 release.
