- Reading the latest and greatest copy (Sept 1992) of the Cisco Product
- Configuration Guide reveals some stuff that is news to me...
-
- I already knew about the CSC-C2CCTL, cBus2 controller card. It was my
- understanding that this was intended to be a higher throughput
- follow-on product to the original cBus controller. My interest in it
- stems from a desire to use the 4-port token-ring controllers, which
- (I'm told) require the cBus2 controller.
-
- The questions I have arise from the mention of other cBus2 cards... most
- notably to me, CSC-C2MECx.
-
- Questions:
-
- 1. How does a CSC-C2MECx differ from a CSC-MECx? Is it the same board with
- different micro-code or is it a newer (faster?) version of the board?
-
- 2. Is it possible to run C2MECx cards in a system with a CCTL?
-
- 3. Is it possible to run MECx cards in a system with a C2CCTL?
-
- 4. Is there an upgrade path (if necessary) from a MECx to a C2MECx?
-
- I guess the bottom-line is... does the existence of a C2MECx imply
- that additional varieties of spares need to be stocked by those of us
- who engage in such activity?
-
- Thanks
