- custom BOOTP server running to support this (and the SLIP client agrees
- on this custom mechanism with regard to a pseudo hardware address).

- The cisco comm server does indeed have a custom bootp server. It ignores
- the hardware adress field of the bootp packet, and instead uses the line
- that the packet came in on to assign an appropriate address.

- I vaguely recall that some version of FTP software had problems with
- bootp overslip, but thought that it was fixed in the "most recent"
- version from them. Turning on "debug ip-udp" and "debug slip-event"
- on the cisco may give you information on what is going on...
