  17. This may have nothing to do with the Boca modem.  Windows 3.1 is a 
  18. TERRIBLE environment for modems.  You MUST have a lot of horsepower
  19. to run 14.4Kbps transfers and doing something else.  Is also very dependent
  20. on what else you are running.  If you try to run something like Corel Draw
  21. or Pagemaker along with hispeed transfers you are asking a lot from a
  22. system.  You really need a fast 486 to accomplish this.

  27. There is 1.28 out now.  With the newer ROM's most of the problems 
  28. reported here have been corrected.  You have to consider that you
  29. are getting a lot of techology for not a lot of money.  You get
  30. what you pay for, if you want Perfection then spend about $500 more
  31. and you'll be fine, otherwise the Boca modem is great for most 
  32. people.  We successfully get around 1640-1650cps transfer all the time
  33. and have many people call our CCS Tech Support BBS (410) 476-5098 all
  34. the time getting comparable transfers from a Boca modem.
