- Hello all,
- I am not on this mailing list but I know someoon on here can help me.
- I am trying to transfer data between two machine a mac and ann IBM PC via
- two modems without using the phone lines. Sounds like a null modem- right?
- Well, almost I don't feel like building or buying one of those cables even
- though I have used this method before and I know it works. What I am trying
- to do is force two modem to connect when connected together. Generally for
- direct connect comm situations, the "read" and "transmit" signals must be
- switch so that one machines TX is the other RX and the RX on one is the TX
- on the other. I accomplished this by taking a female-female thru connector
- - openning it up so that the two middle pins could be swapped oon one side
- of the connector. The problem I am have is getting the modem to force a
- connect which is supposed to be ath1.
-
- Does anyone know how to make such a set up work?
- Thanx in advance
-
- Keith-
