- Hi...I posted a message about a week ago in reference to 9600 baud
- modems. Now that I have been actively searching out the differences
- between 9600 baud modems, I have become confused. What is the
- difference between 9600 and 14.4k baud modems? (besides the speed 8-) )
- What is the true difference between V.32, V.32bis, V.42 and V.42bis. Of
- what I understand now, V.32 is just the 9600 standard, V.42bis is just
- MNP levels 2-5 data compression to bring a 9600 up to 14.4k, and V.32bis
- and V.42 more data compression and/or data correction. If this
- is a FAQ in another newsgroup, please send me email (or post) as to where
- I can FTP the FAQ file or at least locate it. Thanks.
