- I also have just put in a new set of BOCA 1.27 ROMs. For me there are some
- definite improvements. Much better detection of busy signals, so no long
- timeouts with constant busy. Also no false detect of ring as busy. No lockup
- yet, although I may not have had it long enough. Even though the UART is
- still only 16450, I have had no buffer overruns even on 250k downloads--
- previous I could expect at least one buffer overrun in about 30-60k blocks.
- For me most things are positive. Have had a couple occasions when the
- modem did not disconnect upon carrier drop, but that is not consistent.
