- I also have two external Zoom VFX modems, one is in a town
- with a less than modern exchange and they work fine,
- although the few times I have had problems connecting to
- something, and the guy on the other end finds out is is a
- Zoom, it is the first thing blaimed and I have to prove that
- it is not. Luckly I am a data communications type guy, so I
- can usually tell. The most common problem is incorrectly
- configured V.32 or V.32bis modems that have been set up
- for auto answer on client systems, sometimes lacking
- flow control or other such things. The reference book
- that comes with the Zoom is wonderfull. Apparently
- correctly configuring any high speed modems and serial
- ports is still a black art for some people.
