  10. I have just bought a Dynalink 2400P modem

  12. My friend bought one at the same time, his works fine, mine is being a %&&&^%
  13.  
  14. There were several differences and we are not sure whether there is a
  15. configuration problem, a hardware problem, or both.

  17. First the CD light on mine does not light up till it makes a connection (whilst
  18. my friends comes on even when disconnected)

  22. When we send the command AT&V the first line on my friends reads

  24. ACTIVE PROFILE:
  25. B0 E1 L2 M1 Q0 V1 X4 Y0 &C0 &D0 &G0 &J0 &L0 &P0 ...

  27. while mine reads

  29. ACTIVE PROFILE:

  33. its the &C0... that we seem not to be able to configure.

  35. Finally the modem dials the phone the other end rings twice then it aborts with
  36. BUSY.  This was only solved by disabling the results codes.

  38. Can anyone suggest what I do next?
