- FACT: When NS discovered a bug in the 16550, the 'fixed' version was called
- the 16550A, not the 16550F. This does not lead me to believe that National is
- likely to use "F" to indicate 'fixed'.

- OBSERVATION: I have never observed any bugs in NS16550AN chips operating in
- interrupt mode.

- There may have been fixes to DMA mode, but you'd need special hardware and
- software to take advantage of this 16550 mode, so it wouldn't affect 99.9% of
