- I would like to replace some analog modems with "ISDN terminal adapters"
- if possible. Here is my current configuration:
-
- (57.6K) (14.4K) (14.4K) (38.4K)
- X terminal -> analog -> analog phone line -> analog -> annex -> ethernet
- modem modem
-
- Notes:
-
- (1) The annex is a Xylogics Unix box that interfaces multiple serial lines
- to ethernet (for telnet/rlogin services). It handles the multiplexing,
- modem management, etc.
-
- (2) The modems operate at v.32 in an UNCOMPRESSED mode.
-
- Questions:
-
- Can I replace the analog portion (modems/phone lines) with an ISDN
- terminal adapter and ISDN telephone line?
-
- If so, please suggest a manufacturer/model no. of the required hardware.
-
- Also, what would be the performance advantage? What if the modems are increased
- to 28.8K (v.fast)?
-
- Thanks.

- Regards,
-
