- I think that focusing on the RS-232 interface on a PC is wrong. Almost all
- PCs have a much higher speed parallel interface port as well. I currently
- use a Xircom Pocket Ethernet adapter which plugs into the parallel port and
- give a thin net connection. This goes to a Combinet ISDN half-bridge which
- gives me dynamic bandwidth allocation at 56 or 112 Kbps. I tried using
- PPP over via the async at 57.6 Kbps and it beat my PC to death.
