- My original post was driven by shock.
-
- There I had been, at an Informix User conference, listening to Malcolm
- Padina (UK Managing Director) telling us that they had increased sales,
- a VERY healthy bank balance, and even better products in the pipeline...
-
- However a price increase was announced, it would be in the region of 10%
- to 15%. This was only annoying since it was an increase higher than inflation
- and we are in recession...
-
- Then my distributor sends me the new price list. No matter how hard I try I
- cannot make 113% look like 15%! Now this, I agree is not across the board.
- The low end machines that are having far higher price increases with respect
- to high end machines. When I last asked the percentage of users running on
- 486 PC's the answer given was about 20%...
-
- It seems certain that I'm not the ony VAR in a state of shock.
