  21. If this has been in the last week, then you're not the only one.
  22. I poll clout at 6pm and 6am every day for my news.  Recently, I was
  23. going through the logs and noticed a lot of "ERROR: chat script timed out"
  24. problems with clout.  So I waited around and let it happen again.  It did,
  25. and I ran uucico manually several times at debug level 10 (shows you
  26. everything but the kitchen sink).  The same thing was happening as
  27. you describe above:  it connects, and that's it. No cc-tip> or anything
  28. else.  I tried it manually, using a terminal program, and it still
  29. was screwed up.

  31. I tried 5 minutes later and it worked.  Then I tried 5 minutes after
  32. that and it didn't work.

  34. EIther there is an intermittent modem problem over there (like one of
  35. the modems isn't connected to a computer and everyone forgot about it
  36. and if you connect with that modem you end up talking to /dev/null)
  37. or the school is doing work on the system over break.

  39. Can maybe postmaster(.of-the-month)@clout shed some light on this?
  40. And maybe some other sysadmins check their logs to see if their
  41. systems have had any of the same problems?
