- Gentlefolk,
-
- If you really want to ban firearms, it is necessary to go
- through the phase we are in now. Your masters know exactly
- what they are doing. One must, at first, leave firearms legal
- but require registration. This is _not_ too little; it is
- precisely enough!
-
- If you go straight to the ban, many seemingly law-abiding
- citizens will simply put their guns out of sight, whereas they
- will not object to registration, since (as everybody knows)
- this will keep guns out of the hands of crazy people. Ignore
- the man behind the curtain and the oddness that it's the guns,
- not the people, that are registered.
-
- Sometime later, we can ban firearms entirely, and the
- registration lists will lead us to a lot of armament that
- would otherwise have remained in the hands of dangerous
- anarchists. Peace, Order, and Good Government, Forever!
-
- Sleep well,
- Marc
