  23. It's a pad of steel wool, all twisted and knotted; they're used to scrub
  24. pots and pans.  It's a description of very tightly curled hair, so curly
  25. it's *very* difficult to comb.  I say worn-out because when they're old,
  26. they get lumpy.:-)
