  12. I used to have a sub to _Chronicles_.  I gave it up because the ratio of
  13. noise to substance was too high.  I haven't much use for literary criticism,
  14. and _National Review_ and _The American Spectator_ do a better job with
  15. politics and such ....

  20.         for every dollar paid to men."  This must be corrected through
  21.         government-mandated "equality."  As even a liberal bishop should be
  22.         able to see, the Creator made each of us different.  There is no
  23.         equality in the talents we receive from God or the use we make of them.
  24.         In fact, it is our radical inequality that makes the economy possible.

  37. Rockwell blasting the entire Catholic Church, just those Catholics

  42.         At the risk of shocking moderns:  only women are equipped physically,
  43.         psychologically, and spiritually to bear and raise children.  (That
  44.         seems a truism and it is, but no form of truth is popular today.)
  45.         Because of this, women do not have the same drive for power as men, or
  46.         therefore the same role in the division of labor.  As sociologist
  47.         Steven Goldberg has shown, men have dominated the high-paying, high-
  48.         prestige positions in every society in history.  To the extent that
  49.         women come to dominate a formerly male profession - medicine in Russia,
  50.         for example - it loses status.

  52. Innumeracy alert!  Assuming empirical sociological research is like
  53. empirical economic research, it cannot "show" anything.  It can
  54. reject or fail to reject hypotheses, or it can establish generalities
  55. from which hypotheses might be drawn (and later tested)

  66. doesn't have a huge budget.  On the other hand, if someone stones Rockwell,
  67. he becomes yet another honored martyr to PC tyranny.
