  21. This is not directly related to WP, but I thought having working with
  22. Windows some of you might have encountered the following problem:
  23. When I try to run a Windows application using Windows 3.1 in standard
  24. mode
  25. (I don't know if it has anything to do with the mode), I sometimes get
  26. application error messages. For example, when I try to enter the file
  27. manager, I get, more often than not, the message:

  39. Another example is when I run "After Dark" (a screen saver). It gives the
  40. same message, this time for module COMM.DRV at 0002:03EB. However, in
  41. this
  42. case it waits 10-15 seconds after running the program before it halts.
  43. Most of the time I just click on the "close" box and continue working
  44. (giving up the program I wanted to run); sometimes it just locks the
  45. whole
  46. system.
