- I'll try! First of all you should have both the RAM and the NOEMS parameters
- to enable Windows in 386Enh mode to emulate EMS memory.
- The /Y= parameter is totally new for me. At least smartdrv /? doesn't tell
- me anything about it and nighter does the Windows manual. Is that some new
- version of smartdrv? What does it mean?

- EMM386 provides you with UMB:s into which you can load drivers from DOS.
- The 256kB converted to EMS by EMM386 is taken from the physical memory leaving
- 3840 kB. According to the postings here last week the maximum virtual memory
- would then be 3*3840 kB=11.25MB. Subracting some reserved basememory it would
- leave about 11 MB. Near 10688kB isn't it?
- You are probably better of using the Windows EMM instead as the memory can
- then be used by Windows when not used for EMS. Please comment my calculations.
