  17. TO end confusion over the new Supreme Command Headquarters building,
  18. Prime Minister Chuan Li]eekpai has asked parties concerned "not to
  19. talk about it any more", according to Deputy Defence Minister Sombat
  20. Rodphothong.

  22. Those who still have doubts should speak to Mr Chuan directly, Maj-Gen
  23. Sombat said.

  25. The controversy over the 10-storey building, which Maj-Gen Sombat
  26. described as "no big deal", will be discussed by senior officials next
  27. week.

  29. Opposition MPs have criticised the planned location of the building --
  30. next to the Royal Plaza and the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall in the
  31. royal precincts.

  33. Meanwhile, Defence Minister Vijit Sookmark said the Supreme Command is
  34. considering carefully proposals that the title of supreme commander be
  35. replaced by that of chairman of the joint chiefs-of-staff.

  37. Gen Vijit said the proposal will be forwarded to the Cabinet through
  38. himself soon.
