- TO end confusion over the new Supreme Command Headquarters building,
- Prime Minister Chuan Li]eekpai has asked parties concerned "not to
- talk about it any more", according to Deputy Defence Minister Sombat
- Rodphothong.
-
- Those who still have doubts should speak to Mr Chuan directly, Maj-Gen
- Sombat said.
-
- The controversy over the 10-storey building, which Maj-Gen Sombat
- described as "no big deal", will be discussed by senior officials next
- week.
-
- Opposition MPs have criticised the planned location of the building --
- next to the Royal Plaza and the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall in the
- royal precincts.
-
- Meanwhile, Defence Minister Vijit Sookmark said the Supreme Command is
- considering carefully proposals that the title of supreme commander be
- replaced by that of chairman of the joint chiefs-of-staff.
-
- Gen Vijit said the proposal will be forwarded to the Cabinet through
- himself soon.
