-
- HANOI, Dec 21, Reuter - The Vietnamese government will allow state-owned
- trading companies to import previously banned cars, motorbikes, cassette
- radios, colour TV sets, electronic spare parts, electric fans and canned beer,
- an official newspaper said.
- The English-language Saigon Newsreader quoted official newspapers as saying
- the decree lifting a ban on these items was issued by Deputy Prime Minister
- Phan Van Khai last week to stabilise prices and demand and increase state
- revenues.
- The newspaper did not say what tariffs would be imposed on the imported
- goods.
