  15.     HANOI, Dec 21, Reuter - The Vietnamese government will allow state-owned
  16. trading companies to import previously banned cars, motorbikes, cassette
  17. radios, colour TV sets, electronic spare parts, electric fans and canned beer,
  18. an official newspaper said.
  19.     The English-language Saigon Newsreader quoted official newspapers as saying
  20. the decree lifting a ban on these items was issued by Deputy Prime Minister
  21. Phan Van Khai last week to stabilise prices and demand and increase state
  22. revenues.
  23.     The newspaper did not say what tariffs would be imposed on the imported
  24. goods.
