- Itamar responds that he is puzzled by my posting regarding the 2-m dashes on
- an HP laserjet II-P or II. He is able to do so on an HP-III.
-
- I have not looked at the PRN of an HP-III, Itamar, so I can't compare it with
- the II-P's contents. However, it is clear to me that the dashes form part of
- the larger picture of graphic lines that are missing in the II and II-P
- drivers altogether. In other words, although the keystrokes of Alt Gray Minus
- or Plus provided the dashes on screen, they failed to print. The same was tru
- of all the single and double lines supposedly available. Someone simply
- forgot to include the substitution characters in the driver. Undoubtedly,
- they are aware of this and other shortcomings in the laserjet printer drivers
- (try to print out with automatic leading as an example of a glitch), and will
- be providing fixes. It might well be that the individual(s) who worked on the
- HP-III drivers was more thorough.
- Happy New Year to all.
