- After some typically helpful suggestions from Tony Woozley, one of my
- two New Year shoot-for-the-moon wishes has been solved.
-
- I did a little nosing around the SIMTEL holdings and found *just* the
- utility I was after. In the directory /msdos/dirutl there's a little
- FREEware program called move453.zip (13345 Kb). It can search
- directories recursively for target files, and move them en masse to a
- different directory or floppy (there's even a switch that will prompt
- you for a new floppy when one is filled). Thus, I can add the line to
- the end of my NB4.BAT "launcher" that reads:
- MOVE e:\*.bak a: /r/o
- and all .BAK files on disk e: (a partition devoted to NB) will
- be automatically MOVED to a floppy in a:, /r=recursing subdir's
- and /o=overwriting files of the same name. There are other switches
- too. (The line beginning "MOVE..." should read "e:[backslash]")
-
- Perhaps others will find this nifty little utility of value as well.
-
- Best wishes,
- David.
