-
- From VAX/VMS sites running the Jnet software, SEND works the same as TELL.
-
- SEND LISTSERV@UBVM "Help"
-
- I don't recommend the "interactive message" approach for 2 reasons:
- (1) many sitees are dropping their BITNET membership and the number of
- mail-only sites (most Internet sites, many VAX/VMS sites, some VM/CMS
- sites, and most UNIX sites) is very large.
- (2) Interactive messages work fine if the connection between sender and
- LISTSERV node is up but if that connection is not there then the
- sender needs to remember to re-send their command at some later time.
- With mail, the message gets queued and eventually delivered.
-

-
- Yes, I do. For example:
-
- To get more information about using LISTSERV send e-mail to
- LISTSERV@UBVM.BITNET or listserv@ubvm.cc.buffalo.edu and in the body of
- the mail message, (LISTSERV ignores the Subject: line), include the
- following line:
-
- help
-
- > Thanks for the advice about Netserve. I had just begun to explore it.
-
- You're welcome.
