- Here at UNB we have tried something slighly different and it has worked
- very well and has become one of our most popular offerings. We call it
- "Tuesday at 3:00" and every Tuesday we (Computing Services) provide
- coffee/juice/donuts and a speaker. The refreshments are available at 2:45,
- the speaker talks from 3:00 to 3:15, people can then get up and leave or
- stay as long as they like for discussion. We do this every Tuesday, no
- exceptions. The talks are usually informal. Heckling is allowed. Sometimes
- it is just one of our staff members descibing a new project. It is also
- a good forum for staff members to report on conferences they have attended.
- Everyone on campus is welcome.
-
- Recent Tuesday at 3:00 topics include:
- - bibliographic database packages
- - Macintosh internet mailers
- - Quality management
- - A new library acquisitions system
- - Why voice mail?
- - scheduling meetings with WP Office
- - IP tunneling
- - Why I like UNIX
- - EDUCOM '92
