  11. Re the discussion that used to be entitled Books and Films: I have
  12. a couple of things for comments and questions.

  14. 1. I take exception to the American man who remarked that the Balkan
  15. inhabitants learned their hatred "at their mothers' knees". Having
  16. the experience of being a mother, I can say that my children learned
  17. far more aggressive behavior from their peers than from their parents.
  18. Shades of Lord of the Flies. Which leads me to remark that I don't
  19. hear of women active in the killing in B-H. What role are the Serbian
  20. women playing in this conflict? A recent article in the Minneapolis
  21. Star-Tribune discussed how the women in Somalia are now running the
  22. businesses, banks, relief centers, etc. while the men are out with their
  23. guns. Has anyone seen anything about Serbian women?

  25. 2.I like to hear some discussion of the no confidence vote for Milan Panic
  26. a couple days ago. Where are all the folks that saved him from such a
  27. vote a few months ago? Why have they changed their minds? I can guess, but
  28. has anyone read any interviews, etc. given by people that voted for him
  29. the first time, but against him the second?
