  14. With regard to no writing center and conferencing:
  15. I started here a year and a half ago--first person with
  16. any rhetoric and comp degree.  Nope:  no writing center.
  17. Quite a few other things we are doing without, too.
  18. But listening in on many of the conversations here
  19. have certainly given me ideas of direction.  We do
  20. have a "learning center."  I suspect that if I had
  21. time, I might be able to orient a portion of that
  22. toward a writing center.  Hmmm.

  24. I appreciate the functions of conferencing--particularly
  25. in the writing center situation.  Maybe a part of my
  26. challenge is to teach students how to do in my classroom
  27. what others do in writing centers.
