- I haven't taught comp for about 15 years; I am awed by all the theoretical
- information I don't have, and by the fact that the courses sound pretty much
- the same as they used to before we knew there was theory.

- A word to Marcy Bauman: maybe you could try having the kids teach writing to
- each other, i.e., let them write about writing, their own, each other's, and
- what they need it for, on campus and off. Set what they write up on overheads
- and let them revise it for each other in public. Let th;em define the contexts
- in which they write and judge and write about what happens.

- Give them Barthes as a writing model and turn the;m loose. Let them play.
