  34. Gateway improves computer access to Government data and information.
  35.  
  36. A pilot project that will connect computer users electronically to more
  37. than 50 Federal departments and agencies has been set up by NTIS.  The
  38. service, called FedWorld ....
  39.  
  40. "A single phone call will be all it takes for taxpayers to access much of
  41. the enormous wealth of information produced by the Government," said
  42. Thomas Walker, FedWorld Project Director.  "To launch this electronic
  43. gateway we have collected a comprehensive list of free Federal information
  44. systems."
  45.  
  46. NTIS FedWorld connects users to dozens of computer bulletin board systems
  47. operated by Federal departments and agencies.
  48.  
  49. NTIS is inviting the general public to participate in the pilot project.
