  24. EENETS is an Internet mailing list that is also being run as a conference
  25. internationally on the Association for Progressive Communications networks.
  26. Its  main purpose is to provide a forum for people interested in the
  27. development and operation of electronic networks in environmental education
  28. settings.

  30. The creation of the list was suggested at the Eco-Ed conference in
  31. Toronto in October of 1992.  At this conference it became clear that
  32. there were many network-based projects running or being planned.  This
  33. mail list is an attempt to help coordinate information about these
  34. projects and the networks on which they are running so we can learn from
  35. the experiences of others.

  58. An initial activity suggested was to generate as comprehensive of a list
  59. as possible of existing or planned network-based EE projects.  To that
  60. end, we ask all new members to send in descriptions of any of these
  61. projects of which they are aware.  The short descriptions should be in

  72. communications, but also of other resources and services available via
  73. this medium that may be of interest to environmental educators.
  74. This list will be maintained by the "National Clearinghouse for
  75. Environmental Education and Training" (NCEET) project at the University
  76. of Michigan's School of Natural Resources and the Environment.  This
  77. document will be updated to indicate how to obtain a copy of these
  78. descriptions once a collection has been initiated.
