  12.    Texas Instruments Incorporated has a SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR position
  13. available immediately.  Applications received by Jan. 8 will receive

  16.    The Texas Instruments Information Network consists of 9 libraries and
  17. the Corporate Technical Information Center (CTIC).  CTIC encompasses
  18. technical processes for the libraries, as well as other corporate-wide
  19. information services.  The Information Network has a union catalog of
  20. 23,000 titles and a union list of 1,800 serial titles.  TI is about to
  21. purchase a new corporate-wide integrated online library system. The Systems
  22. Administrator will play a key role in implementing the IOLS and will provide
  23. ongoing support for librarians and CTIC staff.

  25. 0   DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  27.  -- Plan and execute data conversion project.
  28.  
  29.  -- Install and maintain IOLS software.
  30.  
  31.  -- Work with TI Library and CTIC staff to write documentation, establish
  32.     policies, and generate reports and metrics.
  33.  
  34.  -- Serve as primary interface with IOLS vendor and act as liaison from
  35.     TI to vendors, other information units within TI, and TI Systems staff.
  36.  
  37.  -- Provide microcomputer, telecommunications and CD-ROM support services
  38.     for the technical libraries and CTIC staff.
  39.  
  40.  -- Train librarians; consult on program for training endusers.
  41.  
  42.  -- Plan for new technologies.

  45.  0  MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  MS in Library or Information Science with
  46.     3 years experience as a Systems Librarian.
  47.  
  48.  0  REQUIRED PROFICIENCIES: Experience with MARC record format,
  49.     IOLS and CD/ROM applications.  Ability to coordinate automation
  50.     activities and provide leadership.  Ability to communicate technical
  51.     information to a broad range of audiences. Excellent interpersonal
  52.     skills including teamwork, collaboration, compromise, and negotiation.
  53.     Basic knowledge of client/server applications, telecommunications
  54.     and networking technologies.  MS-DOS, OCLC.
