  13. hi, i have a dog which was a birthday gift, and all i know is she
  14. was reputed to be part wolf. (my sister found her and a bunch of
  15. other pups at a moving sale; she said the mother was chained up
  16. away from the puppies and when she asked why, the owners said
  17. the mother had turned on the puppies. my puppy and a few others
  18. had scrapes and scratches from the mother...) anyway, she's get-
  19. ting older and i've never known for sure. a couple years ago i
  20. took her to a dog obediance training course led by a woman who
  21. had an m.s. in animal behaviorism. the instructor told me that
  22. all dogs have little spurs on their teeth at the gum line, and
  23. that wolves do not. she looked at my dog's teeth and pronounced
  24. her all dog. does anyone know if this is a good way to tell?

  26. just wondering. oh -- my dog's mother was supposedly half-wolf.
  27. obviously for some reason the mother turned on the pups. my dog
  28. also has picked many fights with other dogs, including our other
  29. dog whom she's ripped open a couple times (the last time so badly
  30. that we keep them totally separate now); she also picked fights
  31. with dogs in our obediance class. might this type of "social mal-
  32. adjustment" on the mother's part and on my dog's part indicate her
  33. being part wolf, or is she just a strange dog?

  35. additional notes: when i got her she was only 5 weeks old
  36. and just barely had her teeth. when she barks at people she
  37. doesn't like or know, a thick stripe of hair from her neck
  38. ruff down her back to her tail stands up. (i haven't seen
  39. this in other dogs, but i'm not ruling it out). she gets a
  40. winter coat and sheds it like crazy in the spring, but she
  41. also has beautiful reversed husky markings (light markings on
  42. dark gray body), so maybe spring shedding is a husky thing??
