- I had one of their last years models, the spider 4/3.
- It committed hari-kari at most seams by last summer.
- They gave me a brand new one with "titanium micro-flakes" fluff jersy.
- Free, which was very cool, I have to admit.
-
- All the seams that used to be taped and glued are now taped and
- stitched. I've had it since september so I can't say too much but
- nothing has gone wrong and I like it.
-
- It seems warm, but I doubt it's a whole lot warmer. I'm sure things
- like good seams and fit are still more important. There is a little
- note on the tag saying japanese textile authority proved it to be
- 22% warmer, but then again, the japanese make the stuff, so you'd
- expect something like this.
-
- The marketing argument on the tag, obviously written by a
- southern californian, ;-), says something pretty ridiculous:
- (paraphrased):
-
- "the titanium flakes get to 98.6 then reflect excess heat
- back to you".
-
- right.
-
- The titanium jersey just looks like grey terry-cloth on the
- backside of their smooth (textured actually) neoprene surface so
- it's only on back, chest and lower arms.
- I expect it will get pretty raggedy by next winter.
-
- Ask me again in late february whether it's warm or not. :-).
