- I notice that it seems to be the tradition of alt.surfing readers to
- introduce themselves when they are new to the net; although I have been
- reading alt.surfing postings for a while, due to an archaic computer
- and modem, I wasn't able to post anything. However, Santa was good to
- me this Christmas and brought me a new modem for my Mac, so I now have
- posting capability like most everyone else in the 1990's.
-
- I'm currently a grad student in marine biology with an office in the
- Marine Lab overlooking Campus Point. Whenever Campus is going off I'm
- usually out there, especially for the crack-it sessions. That's for
- three months out of the year (Jan-Mar); the other nine months I don't
- have much time to travel, except for an occasional trip to Jalama or
- Ventura. I grew up surfing the west side of Santa Cruz, living a few
- blocks from the Lane and Stockton Ave., so I'm basically too lazy to
- travel for surf on a daily basis -- it's just not worth it>
-
- In addition to surfing Santa Cruz for the past 20 years, I've also
- spent some time surfing the frigid northwest and checking the surf in
- Taiwan, so I follow the postings of John Airey and the rest of the SC
- posters, John Lake in WA State, and Kevin Parrington in Japan with
- interest.
-
- I'll try to post when we have a good day in my neck of the woods.
- After all, if it's pumping in Goleta, there HAS to be waves wherever
- you're at!
-
- Happy surfing y'all!
