  22. DISKREET has two encryption methods - a fast proprietary one (which I
  23. definitievely don't trust) and DES. I am afraid that the DES
  24. implementation is only in ECB mode, but have not verified that. It
  25. does not support encryption at the subdirectory level; it supports
  26. encryption at the drive level. That is, it creates a logical volume in
  27. a huge hidden file. This volume is accessed by the means of a device
  28. driver. It provides only encryption, not compression. I have been
  29. unmable to install both DISKREET and Stacker (obviously, the
  30. encryption should be at a lower level, otherwise no compression will
  31. occur). It seems that the drive swapper from Stacker does not work
  32. with logical drives - only with physical ones. Since I needed the
  33. compressed/encrypted/whatever drive to be C:, I didn't bother to try
  34. the combination of the two products without drive swapping...
