  14. OK, so I know this group is usually computer related security, but just for a 
  15. wee change...

  17. An idea:

  19. Car crime is on the increase (in the UK anyway).   Insurance premiums are
  20. getting ridiculous.   What can be done about it ?

  22. Well, in this technology filled age - why not put a closed circuit video
  23. system in your car ?

  25. All it needs is a small camera pointing at where a driver would sit, and
  26. a normal alarm trigger system to start the small video recorder hidden
  27. somewhere out of sight.   The camera would be hidden as well, maybe behind
  28. the dashboard...

  30. I have seen cameras (with output directly to a video) that are less than
  31. 1 inch in diameter, and about 2 or 3 inches long.   OK, so these would be
  32. a bit expensive, but it would be worth it to protect a BMW or Merc worth
  33. 40 or 50 thousand dollars.

  35. This would result in a lot more car theifs getting caught, and a reduction
  36. in crime.

  38. OK, so some would eventually wear a mask or something, but they would look
  39. rather suspicous driving around in one...
