- This has been hashed out here before. It all depends on what definitions you
- use. There are many many people who come to 12 step meetings and never come
- back. Far more than come and stay and work the suggested program of recovery.
- If you define those who aren't helped as those who come and don't get/stay
- sober then the statement is correct. However, this does not mean that Twelve
- Step programs don't work. It means that they don't work for everyone. Some
- people aren't so bad off as to need the steps, others aren't bad off enough to
- want them.
