  15. Harold Edwards' book _Fermat's Last Theorem_ quotes it in English
  16. translation [the libraries are closed here and I have no access to an
  17. authentic Latin text]:

  27. This was transcribed from a note that Fermat had written in the margin
  28. of Bachet's edition of the arithmetic works of Diophantus of Alexan-
  29. dria.  The sentence you want to modify is probably the last one, which
  30. is still in heavy use in the mathematical community 8-).
