  33. SG    Logical positivism?! Rand has been ignorantly or dishonestly accused of 
  34. many philosophical sins but, at least to my knowledge, never before of logical 
  35. positivism. For one thing, she denounces it as the claim "that man can be 
  36. certain of nothing but the sensory perceptions of the immediate moment" and as 
  37. the claim that "[science] is the creation of arbitrary constructs." The _Ency. 
  38. of Philosophy_ describes LP as the  claim that "The propositions of 
  39. metaphysics...are neither true nor false..."    
  40.     What is your understanding of Objectivism and LP such that you think 
  41. they are _basically_ similar? For the most part, opponents of Objectivism 
  42. dislike its concern with metaphysics (any metaphysics). Is your rejection of 
  43. Objectivism on a different basis? What could be a more basic difference than  
  44. the Objectivist acceptance of meta. and the LP rejection of meta?!
  45.     The only possibility i can guess at, and this is really a stretch, is 
  46. that some consider LP as giving positive answers because of its acceptance of 
  47. science.
