- Peeve: Politically Correct sexist pigs
-
- Still in the neverending hunt for a roommate I think I can co-habit with
- and not be convicted of murder in the near future.
-
- So this chick calls up about the apartment last night - no let's call her
- a wench, I think she'd find that more offensive.
-
- Anyway we're chatting, she mentions that she's a lesbian and would that bother
- me. I said "No, not at all. By the way, I sleep with men, would that bother
- you?"
-
- To which she replied "Well, I haven't had men in my space for a long time
- because they tend to be sexist and offensive. Do you think the men you
- bring home would automatically assume that I'm single because I'm not
- with a man and try to get into my pants? That's what men do."
-
- To which I replied that i don't date anyone who'd be enough of a sleaze to
- try to bed my roommate no matter what my roomie's orientation - not exactly
- my idea of a dream date.
-
- Then I told her I didn't think i could live with her because she's sexist.
-
- She got really upset & protested her PC-ness.
-
- I told her that I didn't want any of my friends, many of whom are male, to
- feel that my home is a place where they will be stereotyped and judged
- solely on the basis of their gender or sexual preference.
-
- She got really upset & told me I was a homophobe & that I'd understand
- if I just got together with a woman.
-
- So I told her that she just needed a good fuck from guy hung like a horse
- to get the bug out of her ass.
-
- Damn, I wish Banta were out here - I'd refer her to him for some straightening
- <heh> out.
-
- Anyway, I don't think she's moving in.
-
- Peeve: people who think it's dreadful to stereotype people who have
- traditionally had LESS rights than they have, but perfectly OK to
- stereotype people who have traditionally had MORE rights than they
- have. i mean, when did rejecting people on the basis of gender or
- orientation become the RIGHT thing to do?
