- Do these thoughts that lead you this way come from experience or some
- source references? I would be interested to hear how you come to such
- a conclusion. It sounds related to a little I read on the Rosicrucian
- mythos.
-
- But thinking it out in terms of survival on this planet, such psychic
- abilities that could be lumped under the class of instinct, e.g.,
- knowing intuitively that a certain act would lead to danger, would be
- very adaptive, but would lose value the less survival was threatened.
-
- Any ability which takes focus away from the present, however, would
- likely threaten survival.
-
- In reading this group, no one, to my knowledge, has made it clear that
- there is necessarily a exact correspondence between the place one
- visits oob and the physical place, further limiting its value for
- survival.
-
- The instance I can think of which would support your idea is what I
- know of Taoist literature, which claim the 'ancients' naturally
- exhibited many abilities we would think of as magick or psychic. But
- if you accept this picture, I think you have to loosen your grip on
- the Darwinian explanation of the manifestation of abilities.
