  20. Um, Robert misremembered on this one.  (The rest of his long post is accurate
  21. to the sources he and I have both read, though I am not certain that Wicca
  22. predates GBG.  Robert himself doesn't claim that it is certain that there was
  23. a coven before GBG, just that he finds it likely.)  However, back to my point...

  25. Valiente has Gardner's Books of Shadows not from the time she worked with him, 
  26. but as an inheritance at the time of his death.  She and he had made up past
  27. differences enough to become close friends at the time of his death.  They
  28. were still not working together, but GBG apparently decided that she was the
  29. best person to leave his BoS manuscripts to.

  31. BTW, Robert, I would *love* to see a collection of the texts such as you are
  32. proposing.  One of my major problems (though only one) with Kelly's _Crafting
  33. the Art of Magic_ is that he extracts from the BAM without giving the whole
  34. text so that we can see for ourselves what was going on.  IMO, anyone reading
  35. Kelly's work should keep a large container of salt on hand, because his book
  36. is *very* heavily biased to support his personal issues with GBG.  :-(
