- Sounds extremely like a client problem to me.. the client you are using
- is sending "CHANNEL #channel" not "JOIN #channel" .. as the CHANNEL command
- has been replaced/removed, etc.. if you have fiddled with any of the source
- files for ircd, then you might have mucked something up, and the client
- (sounds like ircII) defaults to ircd version 2.5 (which had CHANNEL) ..
- Try recompiling from scratch..

- Well, Avalon is on holidays at the moment, so you can't really expect him
- to reply can you. I think its rather rude to make a comment like the
- above, when you don't know why.. and don't take his ctcp finger idle
- time as a REAL indication of his idle time..
