- I am sort of disappointed by this new NLP mailing list. I just
- discovered the 'alt.hypnosis' list recently and I am enjoying
- it very much. It was a wonderful way to meet NLP practitioners
- and others with an interest in hypnosis. It seemed a great
- place to share ideas with those who could offer suggestions and
- with those who would find them new and remarkable. Now I
- must look in two places...and I will either have to post answers
- to two places or make a decision about which one is more likely
- to benefit me and others.
-
- And then I come to the end of the announcement which more or
- less uninvites me from the 'alt.hypnosis' list since it states
- that alt.hypnosis is "not for NLP". I have a great deal of
- trouble explicitly separating NLP from hypnosis expsince I learned
- most of my techniques from NLP practitioners and have found
- only a few other sources of hypnosis instruction (they do exist)
- that are clear and repeatable. The NLP vocabulary provides a rich &
- useful means to talk about the methods and effects of hypnosis
- and a framework for understanding much of what hypnosis
- accomplishes. Almost all NLP practioners have at least an implicit
- interest in hypnosis even if the reverse is not true.
-
- Should I leave here totally? How should I configure my postings
- if I stay? Does ANYONE actually object PERSONALLY to my use
- of this bandwidth? On what basis do you object and how can I
- modify my behavior to be respectful of YOUR ideas of what is
- appropriate?
-
- I will n,ot of course, PROMISE to comply fully but I thought
- that I was behaving correctly and offering useful ideas. I
- can only consider a change if I have information to base it
- upon.
-
- BTW, I take no offense at Jon Nowak's posting of this information.
- I may be misunderstanding, he may be mistaken about the waste of
- bandwidth, he may not have intended to imply this, he may be
- correctly reminding me of my manners, he may not be referring to
- me, etc...
