- The articles below are an excellent (valuable) conversation about
- the nature of hunches. The ideas are very useful and I offer
- a further enhancement to the basic 'self-induction' ththat Keith
- provides. This was given to me by one of the little known greats
- of NLP, Don Aspomonte (spelling?) some years ago and he claimed
- that he got it from John Grinder. (Not that it should matter to
- you, but: Credit where credit is due.)
-
- In yourself:
- Install the following anchor, "There is A SINCE IN WHICH...".
- This can be a homophone for: "There is A SENSING WITCH....".
-
- Only you will be aware of the significance. This is a common
- phrase which can be inserted almost anywhere in conversation
- to request activation of the part of you responsible for such
- observation and reporting of subtle clues both in the external
- world and internally to hunches. You are likely to apply this
- phrase when considering disagreeing with another, as it is
- a very polite way of saying "'but' there is an exception I
- would like to make clear." This is a very valuable time to
- be fully aware of the reactions of others because many people
- do not react as you might hope when you offer them a correction
- or amplification, unless it is presented very respectfully.
- Respect, generally requires you to be aware of the wishes and
- possible internal states of the other person.
-
- You can have it invoke Keith's entire induction for a part of
- you tasked with this job or use a modification that is more
- useful for you. Now, if you have not been previously exposed
- to the idea of setting up anchors within yourself this might
- not seem to be a useful idea. Or you may not already know
- the meaning of the word 'anchor' as I am using it here. In
- this sense, you can think of an anchor as a trigger. This
- trigger will cause you to 'remember' to perform some action
- or return to some state when you experience (hear, see, feel,
- smell, etc.) the anchor. So you may, if you wish, use the
- phrase, "There is a sense in which..." to remind yourself that
- you wish to pay particular attention to some part of your
- experience. This allows you to both consciously and unconsciously
- use the the 'anchor' or 'trigger' in you own interactions with
- others or when thinking about anything in private.
-
- There is a sense in which you may find this very useful now or
- you may wish to use this only when it is more important to you
- to gain this benefit! So if Keith offers you the metaphor of
- an high quality VCR then I am offering you the remote control
- complete with automatic recording and the buttons (triggers)
- allowing you to use all of them effortlessly now.

- PS> I would like to hear privately from those who understand
- my ramblings fully. How effective can they be and how can I
- improve them? Do they offer you anything of value?
