- Ditto on the information for an adaptor kit to put late model r&p steering
- on an early Mustang/Cougar/Fairlane/etc. I have a 1969 Cougar XR7 with the
- 390 engine and the power steering system on this car is a piece of crap that
- leaks like a sieve and when it does work, it totally removes all road feel
- from the steering wheel and is way too much power assist (I can turn the wheel
- from lock to lock with my little finger sitting still with the engine at idle)
- and when it doesn't work I need Popeye's can of spinach to turn the wheel. I
- really don't want to put the front end in such a state that it cannot be
- returned to stock condition if I ever decide to restore it but if someone
- makes a rack&pinion retrofit kit that's all bolt-on I sure would
- appreciate the info.
