- Well, D.C. doesn't represent the rest of the country very well, why
- should we expect it to represent us?

- Let's secede! We'll take all of the states that border on the Great
- Lakes, along with Ontario, and form our own country! But - you have
- to find a way to make Quebec take Ottawa. They deserve each other :->
-
- What should we call our new nation, under water?
-
- a. United Lakes of America
- b. Lakesylvania
- c. Greatistan
- d. Superior
-
- a. probably wouldn't play too well in Thunder Bay. b. could easily be
- confused with a real lake in the U.P. c. sounds awful. I vote for
- "Superior".
-
- The next time sombody from Texas or Arizona proposes building a pipeline
- to use our lifeblood (the Lakes) to irrigate their desert, we can say
- "Let them drink oil." I like it! Or, we could offer them a trade: one
- gallon of water for one gallon of oil. See who runs out first.
-
- Other thoughts?
